not much rain today, but lots of lightning! like, there's lightning every couple of seconds. its quite freaky actually. the sky was like orangey-pink for a while and it was quite scary looking. had flag day today, although i admit to playing around more than selling flags...ahhas. collection point: chinatown [people's park complex]. when we got there it looked like a ghost town. anyway after collecting our tins a bunch of us headed to town. gen, stella, huiying, xinyi and i went to centrepoint, found nothing there and so went to specialists' inside. [heh. not too sure if we're actually even allowed to sell flags inside]. that's besides the point. on the way up to the 5th floor gen was like asking this lady if she 'would spare a few coins' [ie, donate]. her little excuse then was that her hands were full, and that i could understand anyway. then there was this bitch who later 'told gen off' because 'people don't like opening their wallets in front of so many'. like. what shit. after we all got sick of somerset we went to toa payoh!!! went to hdb hub and found that there were already so many schools selling there. i still managed to clear like a whole page there. went to the second floor and hung outside the banks [hee] and the railings. there was some bouldering competition going on and there were people at the railings watching and it was so fun going to each person and asking them for donations. i guess there was no way they could get out of it, cos they weren't exactly preoccupied or rushing. or else they wouldn't be whiling away time at the railing. then went to eat 'lunch' at food court and met geri at heeren to take neos. after that, waited for geri, stelli and trish to take their neos and we headed back to chinatown to return the cans. the funny guy there was like giving out bookmarks to us and gave huiying, stella and i two bookmarks each. he was like "one for english, one for geography...." and we were like "eh...haha". and also we got a bottle of water. its quite an interesting bottle anyway but it didn't help that i had to lug home this bottle and an almost full one of my own. in a bag that was seriouly crumpling my right blouse sleeve. got home at about 2+ and then realised that the whole morning and early afternoon just zipped by so fast. at least i can take pride in doing my bit for charity :)
